BYU palentologist Brooks Britt discovered a new dinosaur, and I edited the university news release.  Read the press release for the whole story.

News is boring.  I’d much rather edit a sweet music video or an intense short film, but I love dinosaurs, and I love having a job.  My office at University Communications produces these short news pieces throughout the year, in addition to institutional films and commercials.  I was thrilled to edit this story because it’s really newsworthy.  To prove it, checkout the places it’s being published right now....

In addition to editing the video, I was the Assistant Camera operator during the interview.  I love working with our new EX3, and we used our marvelous LitePanels for the first time.  Some of my interview questions made it into the finished piece, so I was more than a grip.  AND I make a cameo!  Look for the fat guy in the green shirt during the obviously unstaged museum tour.

While the interview concluded I snuck around the fossil warehouse and examined BYU’s gargantuan collection of dinosaur bones.  There’s a whole warehouseworth, and it inspired me to write a film about the discovery of the first Tyrannosaurus Rex.  Draft 10 of THE BONE WARS is being pitched this week, and I’m dying to work on my next dinosaur project.
